Bachata is dancing all over the world, but not in the same form. The dance is based on three steps with a Cuban hip movement followed by a "hip bet" at the fourth pace. The knees are bent slightly, so the dancer can easily ring his hips. Hip movement is very important because it is an indispensable part of this dance's individuality. The upper body movement is less pronounced. Dance has a very sensuous effect due to its close, often body-contact dancing, which is why it is primarily due to the erotic appeal of the other.
